The caravan moves on...

I've been a slacker in the blog department the last two weeks, so this is kind of a catch up entry, more pictures than information. The other issue is that our internet is so hit and miss that I can't always post things...which has been the case over the last two days.

During the four weeks of the Nauvoo Pageant things can be pretty busy.  Last year there were 31,000 guests during the month of July.  This year, during that same time, we had 63,000 people here!!

A few things I want to remember:
  • Nothing can erase what Nauvoo has given us.
  • There is an overwhelming feeling of joy here.
  • It's an honor and a blessing to play a part in our Heavenly Father's kingdom.
  • Fear and doubt are not given to us by our Heavenly Father.  When we move forward with faith in Jesus Christ then we have no need to fear.
  • Christ will make us bigger than any challenge we face.
  • The pioneers set the bar of service and sacrifice so hight that our/my sacrifice is small in comparison.

Here are a few pictures from our last Sunset performance.

The Finale…

Here is the YouTube link to the full performance of Sunset by the Mississippi:

During the Pageant season the Core Cast performs several vignettes around town.  This is a picture of “Joseph Smith & the King Follett Sermon” in the west grove.

We went to Hamilton Thresher Days and watched a Tractor Parade.
Really, they have such things in Illinois :0)

Thousands of tractors…John Deere, Farmall, International
& Case brands.  I had no idea :0)

A fun visit from Kim & Jeff Rhoton!

The highlight this past weekend was a visit from Cami & Judd! It was so fun to have them here and share in the spirit of Nauvoo. Our days were busy with wagon rides, two trips to the temple, historic sites, a visit to Carthage and, of course, a sunset by the Mississippi.

Finally! The day is over!
