Oh,
what can I say more? Really. After listening to General Conference this past
weekend there is nothing that I can say that would add to the messages that
were shared. I do know that Heavenly
Father loves us and wants us to return to him.
General Conference is a manifestation of that love. He warns us, encourages us and instructs us
through his prophets and apostles. I
felt his overwhelming love. So, what am
I going to do now? What am I going to do to be better and do better? As missionaries we talk a lot about invitations
and promises. General Conference was
filled with them. Did you catch them? The one I want to focus on is from Elder Holland. He said, “To grasp the
vision we are seeking, the healing that he promises, the significance we
somehow know is here, we must cut through the commotion — as joyful as it is —
and fix our attention on him.” That’s exactly
what I need. To cut through the
commotion and focus on HIM.
As I listened to what was said, and my heart
was open to the spirit of General Conference, I felt like Oliver Cowdery when
he referred to his experiences during the days of the Restoration of the Gospel, and his role in the translation of the Book of Mormon.
He said, “These were days never to be forgotten — to sit under the sound
of a voice dictated by the inspiration of heaven, awakened the utmost gratitude
of this bosom.” These really ARE days never to be forgotten.

And this one was a week ago Monday. The most odd sunset we've seen.

I watched the General Women's session of Conference in the Visitors' Center with the other sister missionaries. That was a unique experience and the spirit was amazing. I love how President Nelson is sitting on the edge of his seat, anxiously listening to what's being said. That's what I feel like when I hear him speak, hanging on every word. |
